Day 4

Created a demo of a browser.. xulrunner+xuldemo

now we're going to hear about fennec, the mobile browser from vivian.

Idea bank:
1.Translator in phone on press of a (camera?) button [ocr+camera+translator]

2.Embedding daily used favicons on status bar - gives updates. (And?)Drag+drop links in a drop-box like button that appears next to link.

3.Loading bits converted to sound bits to play a unique sound every time a page loads.

4.Tag cloud like interface on opening new tab... that shows thumbnails? or pretty typo viz of names of websites used often.

5.Improve UX of Fennec?! wow.. that would be ONE awesome project to do!

ok fennec after lunch, it's gecko time now..

did i understand anything? is it ok to admit that it bounced over my head? :P

Mark Finkle's blog, Maemo 810 Nokia..things to read besides all the documentation (?) of Fennec so far..progress etc. on the mozilla pages.

And the verdict is, that I will be helping Vivien's Fennec team at Mozilla to improve the UX of the browser..woohoo! Paul and Vivien asked me an important question at dinner - how much time can you invest in this project? hmm.. the only difficult question so far :) Let's just say, let the show begin and we will see how it goes!
